Ok, I guess it's my turn to post yet another mix cd. This one will be entitled "Video Game Music You'll Love", and it'll be just that. So without futher hesitation... here we go
1) Tina (Orchestrated) - from Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale Album
2) Skies of Arcadia Opening Theme - from Skies of Arcadia OST
3) Chateau Ladutorm - from Dragon Quest Brass Suite
4) For The Love Of You - from Grandia Aranged Vent Album
5) Eyes On Me - from Final Fantasy VIII OST
6) The Legend of Zelda Medley - from Ocarina of Time - Hyrule Symphony CD
7) Theme of Love - from Final Fantasy IV Piano Collections
8) Twoson - from Earthbound OST
9) Unknown World - from Dragon Quest I Symphonic Suite
10) Battle 1 - from Chrono Trigger OSV
11) Bloody Tears - from Dracula Symphony of the Night OST
12) Aria di Mezzo Carattere - from Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale Album
13) Blue Pirates' Ship - from Skies of Arcadia OST
14) Wood Man - from Mega Man 2 OST
15) Vama'alla Flamenco (FFIX) - from Live Final Fantasy Concert CD (2/20/02)

That about does it. There was so much I had to leave out of this one... basiclly everything from the Final Fantasy soundtracks deserves to be on here. But that's as best as I can get it. I'm sure I left out some important ones, but I was trying to do this fairly quickly. I just browsed through my MP3s to find some tracks. Maybe I will eventually burn this cd, but the only people who would be remotely interested would be Allen, Ben, and Michon. Only a few more hours until the Huntingtons (and my grand arrival back home... hehehe). I think I'm gonna go find something to do now. Peace.

I think i got a decent idea for a theme. songs that do not define the band. its gonna be all the oddball songs from bands. my only exception is if the band was a supposed 1 hit wonder and the oddball was the single i will not put that. for instance Matt Caws rarely ever talks in a song, making 'popular' an oddball but it was the single so everyone already knows it. i guess the purpose of this cd is to show you what a band doesn't sound like or something hehe its to throw you off. I think PCB's Zack Attack would start this off nicely. Now this doesn't mean the song is bad it just means it doesn;t sound like their main style.

Making a CD with sentences was not a good idea. There's at least one on damn near every album. So then I tried to stick with just questions, and that was kind of rough. I mean, I could make a CD, but I'd be forcing it. So, if anyone wants to use that theme, go for it. I've abandoned it for now.

I think my next theme will be "The Plurals," which will just be songs by bands named The ______s. Hehe. This'll be easy too. The hard part will be selecting the song. I need a way to narrow it down. Hmmm... Do I feel a "double-themed" CD coming on??
Mike 8/25/2002 09:50:00 PM

The weekend is fun, I get to be lazy at least for a little while. I made a mix Cd for the radish swap its pretty cool it was hard to select songs for a theme.

songs and bands you've probrably never heard

1. Jessica Spano freaking out over a caffiene addiction
2. the special goodness - inside your heart
3. basic strudle stuff - long sleeved pants
4. radish - girl in between
5. zebrahead - wasted
6. the stereo - unordinary
7. the orange - score
8. the impossibles - oxygen
9. ozma - lorraine
10. nerf herder - hospital
11. minibosses - mike tyson's punchout
12. midtown - no place feels like home
13. pollen - caramel
14. save ferris - the only way to be
15. presidents of the usa - tiki god
16. fountains of wayne - you're just never satisfied
17. killing heidi - mascara
18. ash - walking barefoot
19. am radio - dream girl
20. harvey danger - terminal annex
21. loyal frisby - not heaven
22. hum - counting stars
23. jodi hates the world - the annihilation of dr. bombay

yeah so its a fairly long cd but anyone who hears it is sure to pick up 1 new band or song from it. I'll think of other ones soon. i'm almost done mixing the PCB cd. All i have is schoolwork and school and some shows this week so it may be a week or so before i get to it.

Weiners all around you

Allen Wedge 8/25/2002 03:08:00 PM

OK, another Mix CD down. Subject: Girl names. The names could only be one word (no "Eleanor Rigby" or "Maria Bartiromo"). This was pretty easy.

I tried to make it strict, like I almost took off the MxPx song cause they have it titled "Oh Donna." But I checked my Richie Valens CD and the actual title is "Donna." My one exception may be the Ashtray Babyhead song. It may actually be "Elaine, Elaine." I just have untitled MP3's of that album. Oh well, who cares... Here's the list...

  1. Imperial Teen - Ivanka
  2. Apples in Stereo - Ruby
  3. Nerfherder - Annalee
  4. Fountains of Wayne - Denise
  5. Supergrass - Mary
  6. Travoltas - Lori
  7. Ben Folds Five - Kate
  8. Beach Boys - Wendy
  9. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Elenor
  10. Reel Big Fish - Valerie
  11. MxPx - Donna
  12. Ashtray Babyhead - Elaine
  13. Mr. T Experience - Naomi
  14. Silver Sun - Julia
  15. Weezer - Jamie
  16. The Huntingtons - Veronica
  17. Better Than Ezra - Rosealia
  18. Goldfinger - Mable
  19. Pendletones - Heather
  20. Pulp - Sylvia

Again, if you want a copy, just let me know...

These are fun. Especially now that we have a CD player in the car. Since I'm broke and we can't really go out on the weekends anymore, I'll just make a bunch of CD's probably. Hehe...

My next one will probably be song titles that are full sentences or questions. Not just clauses or phrases, mind you, but full-blown, English-teacher-accepted SENTENCES with subjects and predicates. I may even do 2 CD's... one for sentences and one for questions...

I'll also do a CD with one-word titles. That'll be easy.

What else can we do? If you guys want, we could even do a Radish Mix CD Library, like Bryan does. That'd be cool. It'd be just us contributing though, I'm sure. What do you think?

Hey, what about a Mix CD of the BEST songs in the CD Swap?? Hahaha... This week, we can go through a make a list of the best 20 songs. The CD Swap Mix. That's funny. Gotta have some Titanic. And Big Willie.

Only a couple more days till the Huntingtons... and I couldn't be more excited. I really hope a lot of people show up. Dana's been promoting her ass off. I wish I could have done more, but I'm stuck up here at school. I at least have lots of friends of mine going, so that's something. I just watched the Saints today... and I don't think I've ever been this impressed with a Saints team in my life. Deuce McAllister looked soooo amazing. It seems like he's been doing this for years. AB did well also. He kept the ball moving, and threw a TD pass to Deuce. I can't wait untill the season starts and we unleash our full offense on our pathetic foes. It felt good to finally sleep late today... and tomorrow I get to sleep late again. I like sleeping late... not a care in the world while I'm sleeping. Today I discovered something really cool... getting pizza from Stone Willys with my meal plan on Sat. and Sun. The pizzas are small personal pizzas, but they are so good... and if timed just right, you can get your lunch pizza, and your dinner pizza right after one another. Yeah I have no life. I'm feeling kind of sick right now, but I don't want to go to bed... so I'm trying to decide between War Craft III, Final Fantasy Tactics, or Baldur's Gate. What a tough decision. Ok, I'm gonna go now... I need coke. Peace.

Woo hoo... it's the weekend baby! TIME TO PARTY!! Actually, my partying will consist of watching some football, and mostly staying in my dorm room. Maybe I'll take a trip or two to the mall. But still, I love the weekend, cause I don't have to do anything. I wish I could spend my money, but I can't right now, because I'm still not sure about the bass. I think I'll find out for sure on Tuesday. If I get the bass, then AWESOME, but if not, I'll have nearly $200 to spend on stuff. And there's nothing more fun than buying stuff. Ok, I'm going to take a nap for now. Peace.

Thursday, August 22, 2002

Well, it's been a fairly fun week. Having classes at 9 and 9:30 am kicks 8 am classes' asses. All of my classes seem pretty fun and interesting. The only one I'm really not TOO sure about is my World History class, but my teacher seems really fun and assholeish, so it's got lots of potential. Just yesterday, I realized that I'm recieving a $600 scholarship for music, which is pretty cool. That should help out later on in life when I'm paying off student loans and what not. Allen and I's dorm room really kicks major ass. We have everything we'll ever need (almost). I only need to bring up a few more important things... those being my gamecube, and my school books. Pretty soon we'll probably be sharing wireless internet, so I'll be getting better speeds on this biotch. I can't wait till next Tuesday, The Huntingtons will rock Espresso Yourself like it's never been rocked before. I'm listening to all the CDs to get myself pumped (as if I need to do THAT to get pumped). And also, next Saturday will be my first football game performance... and it's gonna be a sell out, so I'll be playing in front of quite the crowd. It's gonna be so fun. Ok, I think I've bored everyone enough now, so I'm gonna go talk to people online. Peace.

Like Brett I am also back at USM unlike Brett, I have no friends, I'm not sure why, it kinda sucks. Like Brett I am in Room 423, unlike Brett my internet is fast and costs small amounts of money (however he is on free time of AOL right now so technically hes cheaper than me right now). Brett's no fun he doesn't talk in his sleep like Dexter did. Man i miss the good ole days with Dexter, when I could watch him attempt to play GTA3 and he would talk so much in his sleep that I'd almost get a full story some times. nothing made any sense but it was some funny stuff considering he had such a harsh ghetto accent as it was you can imagine what it was like in his sleep, it'd be little tidbits like "shiiiii, beee doo blittle no me doo man" and from that I'd just start cracking up laughing but he'd never wake up. I mean Dexter wasn;t the ideal roommate by any long shot, he always stayed up waay late but he was definitly my best roommate on accomidations end, neither of us really got in each others hair, he had a cell so i could use the phone line, we both let whoever got to the TV first have it and so forth and he never accused me of anything, in fact he offered me beer a couple times when he was drunk and the things he would say were soo funny like..... "shiiiit I'd go to jail fo dat." That was just many of his classic all time great lines.

Anyway classes are fun, not really, 8am classes suck but I know the teacher so dosing off isn't as bad a problem its just a linux class anyways. Ok thats a lie I'll prob stay awake for every class listenening to everything cause I love computer classes.

My how I've missed thee! It's been so long since my last post... but not by my choice. I've been internetless for the past few days. I started to have withdrawls... but I finally got my fix, when I picked up 1025 free hours of AOL from Office Depot. The shaking has stopped since then. As far as this past week goes, it was filled with exhaustion, yet it was totally fun and new. I got a small taste of this when I was in the Hannan band my senior year, but this is so much more extreme! Everyone is like totally hardcore, and willing to learn everything, it makes it so much more fun. Basiclly every day consited of me waking up for 8am marching rehersal, and going on until 9pm. We did various things such as learning shows (I'll explain in more detail in a bit), learning music, learning warmup techniques, and even a bit of partying and sporting. I've never had to learn this much stuff in my life, and my brain is so freakin full right now. Lots of music! Like two flip folders full of music. And the music is the MINOR part of what I had to learn this week. Since we have 3 home games in a row at the start of the season, we had to learn the Pregame show, the first half time show, and the second halftime show... all while playing the music. I was insane! But it's finally over, and Dr. Adam gave us Sunday off to rest up before classes start. All in all, I definitly enjoyed everything, and I can see looking foward to it each year.
Tomorrow we start classes, and I'm not to worried about that. I have a fairly simple schedule, and this year will go a lot smoother, as I've made lots of new friends up here, and Kristi has decided to join me up here this year. I can't wait for the first football game up here. We played for the incomming freshman, and it reminded me of the fun I used to have playing at football games! I didn't realize how much I missed actually playing! That first game is truly going to rock. I have the whole show memorized, and I could probably type out everything I do right now, but I don't want to bore anyone. My fingers are starting to hurt right now, because I'm typing so much. I have to catch up with everyone on the last week that I've missed back home! Well, I don't have much else to type right now. I'm sure I'll have some stories to tell after my first day of class tomorrow, so stay tuned for a whole lot of blogging on my part from now on. So until next time... PEACE.
P.S.
Sorry I didn't tell you bye Holly.

Damn my sleep schedule sure is screwed up. I was reading the Dee Dee autobiography, thinking it was like 9pm. I look at the clock, and realize it's like 2:30. I've been playing Dragon Warrior I WAY too much lately. I'm about to beat it for the first time ever... which is weird, cause it's one of my all time favorite games. I'm thinking of another comp. cd. This one will be... songs... about... girls! I'll call it "Girl Crazy". So here goes.
1. "Independent" by the Forces of Evil
2. "I Have a Date" by the Vandals
3. "Valerie" by Reel Big Fish
4. "I'm Like Yeah, But She's All No" by the Mr. T. Experience
5. "Standard Line" by Dashboard Confessional
6. "Donna Hates the Queers" by the Robinsons
7. "I Love You Not" by Home Grown
8. "Vivian" by Nerf Herder
9. "The Last Time That You Left" by the Huntingtons
10. "September Girl" by Jupiter Sunrise
11. "Let's Run Away" by Second Saturday
12. "If Only" by Goldfinger
13. "She's A Sensation" by the Ramones
14. "Dressed to Kill" by New Found Glory
15. "Bad Scene and A Basement Show" by Less Than Jake

Well that was fun. Keep in mind that I'm limiting these list to mainly bands that I listen to on a regular basis. This list was tough to narrow down, because EVERY band has songs about girls... well almost every band. Maybe not Anti-Flag, but they don't count cause they suck... Ben knows... he saw them live. Peace.

Allen I hope you're reading this, as I have no other way of getting in touch with you. I'm not going to be able to go up to Baton Rouge, as I realized I have dogs I have to take care of. My parents are coming back tomorrow I think, so I'm gonna try to go up there tomorrow for at least one day of fun. Other than that, I have nothing much to say. I did buy the Lord of the Rings DVD today, even though I can't watch it. That's all. Peace.

Dude Warcraft 3 LAN party style is the greatest thing ever in the whole world. Brett and Ben are supposedly getting up here tommorrow as well as recording the PCB CD, so either way it will be great.

We played like 10 games so far I've won about half of those but even when I lost I came in 2nd, or even better I won all the stastical categories but lost the game.

The song of the day is : Tha Sanity - by Ven Venom

yeah Ryan's been playing eternal darkness the past 2 days also.

Quote of the day : Yeah, I'm Dead - Ryan in like 70% of the games today

Monday, August 05, 2002

Hey yo, what's up? The last few days were fairly fun... Baton Rouge, then Gainesville. Both Robinsons shows rocked, though we sold hardly NO merch... so that sucks. Anyway, it was all a fun experience for most of us. But last night was kind of bad, as I had to work, going on hardly no sleep. But I made it through. In Baton Rouge I came up with ideas for 2 songs. One of which is about many of my dreams, and will be entitled "Michael Myers Is Trying To Get Me". The other one is all about making fun of emo people, and will be entitled "That's Emo". No, it won't be the Audiobook song, I'm just stealing that name, because it's all about things that are emo. I've decided just a few minutes ago, that I would start a High Fidelity type thing, by making up various mixed cds. The first one of course will be an Emo cd, and will be entitled "Emo: For the Emotators Who Love It, and the Emohaters Who Don't". The track listing will be as follows:
1. "Cherry Wine" by Jupiter Sunrise
2. "Crashing Down" by Sugarcult
3. "Free Me" by Goldfinger
4. "Is This Thing On" by Less Than Jake
5. "Sonny" by New Found Glory
6. "Drunk Again" by Reel Big Fish
7. "Phantom Writer" by Cruiserweight
8. "Suicide Watch" by Dr. Frank (He's got a PhD. in P-O-P)
9. "Good Ridance" by Green Day
10. "Butterfly" by Weezer
11. "If You Only Knew" by The Huntingtons
12. "I Don't Speak French" by Estereo
13. "Everything You Are" by Wyatt Funderburk
14. "Mother's Prayer" by MEST
15. "Hello, Goodnight" by The Aquabats

Yep, that's about it. The reason for the title of the cd, is because most of the songs are by bands that DON'T noramally do the emo thing. I challenge everyone else on here to come up with lists of his/her own, it'll be fun if we all get into it. I'm going to listen to some emo now. Peace.
Song of the Moment - "Only In Dreams" by Weezer
Quote of the Moment - " ummm....i have nothing witty to say" by Mr. Ryan "Sterling" Chase "Francis" Arena "Area" "III" (yes we have THAT many nicknames for him)

I really want to vent about how much I hate St. Bernard cops, about how much I hate being strangled and cursed at, about how I hate multiple full body searches, having my hands burn for half an hour against the hood of one of the cars that stopped me while four swat police officers tear apart my car because my headliner is hanging a bit, but I won't. With any luck I can press charges because I know a number of my rights were being violated (which I tried to tell them and inquire about, only to get yelled at and strangled harder).

Of all the black stereotypes, why did I get stuck with this one? At the very least, I know I can get a really good story out of it.

Damn I missed a day yesterday... but o well. Yesterday kicked off the Robinsons tour. Everything started at Espresso Yourself, and it was tons of fun. Whoever missed it really sucks, because Donna Hates The Queers sounded amazing. Tonight we're all headed for one of the craziest places ever... Baton Rouge, so I'm all ready for some drunken fun. Of course after that, it's off to the one and only Gainesville Rock City! They are soooooo gonna get sick of hearing me say that. I cuts mah grass today, so now I'm fairly tired and sweaty, but it's all good cause my moms is cookin up some chicken gumbo. I managed to stumble upon a copy of this game called Freedom Force, and it's so freaking neat! In the game, one assumes the role of a super hero (you can even create your own super hero), and you proceed through a comic series like story. I say series, because each level is setup as a different comic book. But, that isn't the best part. The best part, is the fact that EVERYTHING in the city is destroyable! You can stop oncomming traffic, pick up a car, and proceed to throw it at a building. If you do enough damage to the building, it crumbles to the ground. If you do enough damage to the car, it explodes. On top of that, since you're a super hero, you can fly up onto buildings and stalk the city streets from above. It's a really neat game. Ok, I think I've rambled enough, my bed is calling me for a quick nap. Dana tried to have the pleasure of waking me up this morning by calling me... but I was up earlier than usual, and she was DENIED! I'm sure she'll get me some other day though. Peace.
